Homestuck Cosplay Critique
Hey so i’m seerofsarcasm, a.k.a. Mod #1 of homestuckcosplayhelp, and a while ago on a rather productive night I made a blog dedicated to Homestuck Cosplay Critiques then never touched it again. Well, it’s summer, and I figured I would pick up back up and launch it.
Most cosplay critique blogs fail because they a) don’t know how to give constructive criticism or b) critique people who haven’t asked for their opinion. This blog will only critique submissions and will always be constructive. So if you’re looking for some opinions on your cosplay from someone with lots of experience in homestuck cosplay, shoot me a picture and some information!

I submitted a panel idea to AFO, “How To: Homestuck Cosplay.”
I put Alex down as my co-host but if anyone is interested in helping feel free. It would probably be on Friday, and it would essentially be a Q&A. I’m thinking of also doing a makeup walkthrough as well, if the audience wants me to do so, i’ll take a poll at the beginning.
I was also thinking that, if we got a projector, we could pull up different tutorials as questions are asked. I would want a person in charge of the computer, and writing down all the answers we say and linking to the examples and tutorials we would show. Then I would have a list at the door for people to put their e-mails down, and I could e-mail that information to them to keep after the panel.
But yeah. So this is a thing that may happen at AFO this year.

I’ll be hosting a giveaway of one of my favorite cosplay props! Well, something like it, anyway! But since I know not everyone is a Vriska fan (they’re losers 8ut don’t tell them I said that) i’ll be doing a giveaway for ANY HOMESTUCK THEMED FLAG YOU WANT!
WHAT YOU WILL WIN:
- One hand painted Homestuck themed flag of your choosing!
- It will measure 3x5 feet, which is the standard flag size. The flag pole will not be included.
- You will be able to choose ANY SYMBOL, ANY COLOR AND ANY CHARACTER! Want a Hope flag with the Hope colors? Fine! Want a blue flag with the Green Slime Ghost on it? Done and done! It’s up to you! WANT YOUR FAN TROLL OR FAN KID SYMBOL? WANT A GOD TIER ELEMENT THAT’S NOT CANON? GO RIGHT AHEAD!
- However I will only be doing symbols. My artistic ability pretty much ends with being able to transfer a symbol onto a stencil and onto fabric, no characters or fancy stuff. Just a simple flag style.
- The flag will be one-sided (the cosplay and flag above is mine and it’s also one-sided, it’s very easy to pose with so don’t worry about it).
INFORMATION:
- This is an INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY!
- This giveaway will end on April 30th, 2012!
- The winner will be determined by random number generator!
- I DO COMMISSIONS FOR FLAGS FOR OTHER FANDOMS. Can’t do Homestuck because of legal reasons but anything else, or custom kid/troll symbols not under the Homestuck copyright, is fair game. Going rate is $60 or $80 depending on if you want it one-sided or double-sided respectively. Drop something in my ask if you’re interested!

- I do these sorts of giveaways once every few months. For this one, you don’t have to be following me because that’s a douche-y move, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t really want you to anyway. I’m pretty gr8 and you’d get first news about other giveaways i’m doing.
